SSS, alongside Stafford Rangers Juniors FC, has hosted many successful grassroots tournaments within the local community.
Attracting teams from as far as Manchester, Shropshire and Stoke-on-Trent, our tournaments have seen age ranges from u7s- u13s, covering 5v5, 7v7 and 9v9 formats- all in line with FA pathways. With the FA’s imminent implementation of the new 3v3 format set to come in September 2026, SSS have already begun preparations to support this new structure of grassroots football, and will be running 3v3 tournaments this year!
Our tournaments are a great way to showcase our young players’ development, as well as our close links within the community and local businesses. Please follow our social media pages for further updates on up and coming tournaments and events.

Goalkeeping: SSS provides a weekly dedicated goalkeeper session which not only improves our goalkeeper’s technical skills but also helps in developing mental toughness and game-specific strategies that are crucial for match situations. Our Goalkeeper training is specialised with a focus on skills like reflexes, diving saves, and handling crosses, which are distinct from the field player training that focuses more on passing, dribbling, and field tactics.
Masterclasses: As our young players prepare for joining grassroots teams, SSS provide masterclasses to help target match specific areas of development. Focusing around Years 1-3 (ages 5-8), we aim to target key areas such as ball mastery, 1v1s, 2v2s, defending and technique. We plan our sessions to support their match day understanding and in-game management.
1-2-1 Coaching: Targeted 1-2-1 coaching brings many wonderful benefits: fresh perspectives on personal challenges, enhanced decision-making skills, greater communicative effectiveness, and increased confidence. 1-2-1 coaching does offer lots of personalised benefits, from tailored development, accountability, skill enchantment, focused attention and objective feedback. Our coaches can focus specifically on the player’s strengths and weaknesses, helping them improve faster than in group settings.
Done right, the focused attention can accelerate learning and help players develop certain areas of their game quicker. Our coaches at SSS are huge advocates of personalised coaching. Yet in order to maximize the benefits of 12–1 coaching, it’s important to integrate these individualised practices within the broader context of the game.
At SSS we love to support national FA initiatives and provide opportunities for all ages and genders!
